I encourage beginners to start with this deck because there are many books and classes available to learn tarot. Most will refer to this deck. It's very frustrating to by a tarot deck and find that the books talk about symbolism that isn't on your cards. Many tarot students stop when they hit this brick wall. You can change to other decks when you feel confident enough to do so.
* tarot book - How to Read the Tarot
This book goes into great detail of what each card represents. It also gives you layouts and sample readings to help you understand better. You will learn how to prepare your deck and yourself to give a tarot reading.
* extra large pouch
This pouch offers lots of room to hold your deck, book and anything else you use to prepare for readings. It's keeps everything organized and at your fingertips. I got tired of those small bags that only hold the deck.
* sage to cleanse your deck with and instructions to do it
Sage is the traditional way to cleanse away negativity and other energies from your deck. Energy will collect on your deck from you and those you read. It's important that you cleanse so that each reading isn't contaminated (think of it like your doctor's office that pulls the paper down over the examination table after each patient).
